We offer lapping and hardening of worn side housings as a service.
From a mileage of about 80tkm it is recommended to revise the side housings.
The price includes the processing of one side housing. If you would like to have 3 side housings reworked, please add the article to your shopping cart 3 times.
What will be done:
- Cleaning
- removal of all water and oil plugs
- Lapping. This is a gentle process of removing material from the surface, in addition to achieving a significantly lower roughness depth compared to grinding, which reduces wear on the side seals of the rotor.
- Hardening. Here we trust in a hardening process that does not cause any distortion of the plates due to the heat effect and still achieve a sufficient Shore hardness.
- Glueing in new oil and water plugs and water connector
We cannot repair side plates which have been damaged by defects! We can usually offer original RX8 side plates in exchange or even as new or used items. If you are unsure, you can contact us: info@wankelnation.de
When your side housings arrive, they will be inspected and measured. If damage is noticed and processing is not possible, we charge a processing fee of 50€ and send them back after previous arrangement to you.
